Name: Oğuzhan Mehmet Karadağ
Age: 44
Gender: Male
Orientation: Heterosexual
Nationality: Turkish
Appearance: Oğuzhan tries his best to fit into Vienna, even though he is a Turk. He's rather light skinned, and maybe a little more Western looking. His eyes and hair are both dark brown, and his eyes are slightly slanted. He has a pretty large nose, short hair, and a thick but trimmed mustache. Wears a hat often, and clothing is formal and fitted- but not terribly expensive. Average height at 5'10" and also an average build.
Pic later. :l
Occupation: Writer, Mostly political writing
Social Standing: Formerly Upper Class, but nowadays just lower-middle class in Vienna.
Reason for living in Vienna: Originally, a young student writer for the Young Ottomans, he helped move for a more constitutional government, which did lead to the Kanûn-ı Esâsî constitution. However, the constitution was a failure, and Oğuzhan became just as critical as he once was of the Sultan, and of the state of the Ottoman Empire. He was exiled from his home in Istanbul, and sent to live with his Greek wife's family. He wasn't allowed to do much for a period of time, but as tensions eased, he was let off. Not wanting to return to Istanbul, just because he knew that would result in his exile again, he left his wife and children and moved to Vienna.
Notable personality traits: He has become more jaded as he has grown older, and as the existence of the Ottoman Empire has become less and less stable. The new nationalist sentiment of the era does make him excited, but at the same time, he's pessimistic about it. He has a bleak outlook on humanity, and very little hope for the future of the Ottoman Empire- but that does not stop him from writing inflammatory things with hope for progress. Something of a misanthropist nowadays, though he doesn't mind being around women. (But he doesn't care to hear them speak much...) Is good conversation, but does not like conversing too much. He is by all means, a complete hypocrite.
Interests: The present state of the Ottoman Empire, nationalism, the rise and fall of countries into the modern era, political science, liberalism
Political opinions (if any): Turkish nationalist (not like those crazy ones that write mean comments on Kurdish videos. “STOP TRYING TO SAY YOU ARRNT TURKISH WE ALL TURKS. EVERY1 IS A TURK!!111111111111 USBZKIESTN KAZKHFSTAN KYRGYZSTAN TJIKSTAN (if they want) TURKMENSTAN TURKEY AZERBAIJAN UNITED 4 LYFE”) He has become fiercly anti-Sultan, pro-Turkish, pro-constitution, pro-modernized, and to a point anti-Islamic. At one point he wished for a fair government that could work with the bounds of Islam, but nowadays, he has been turned off from religion all together. Considers himself to be agnostic.
Political/Social Affiliations(if any): 20-some years ago, the Young Ottomans, but as that movement is over, now would fit himself with any opponent to the Hamidian Regime. (Young Turks are coming up soon, so, lots of nationalist shit going down there.)
