She is one of Vienna's disillusioned youth, but is too afraid of all of the suicide, and in fact, it makes her quite afraid. The hustle and bustle of the city center and all of the noise combined with sharp punctuations of high-tension events and the fact that she realizes that she has no control of her life, gives her quite the panic disorder. She's told she can't be married if it continues, because it ruins her appearance. Her hands always tremble just enough to cause trouble, and she pulls at her hair when in stress, so from behind she seems like a senile old woman.
